Stepping Stones Services

Hopelight Behavioral Health is delighted to provide an exciting option for ABA therapy with additional individualized academic support, Stepping Stones Services at Hopelight Behavioral Health!  Stepping Stones is an add-on service without charge to supplement your child's individualized ABA therapy day with academic supports.  Stepping Stones services are available for children who have a high dosage of therapy hours authorized and who have behavioral targets in their treatment plans that would build behavioral skills to enable them to access academics in a traditional school setting.

Hopelight offers the Stepping Stones option for our clients with ABA therapy authorizations with Health First Colorado.  Please check out the information about the benefits of enrollment in Stepping Stones Services listed below. 

S-  Specialized Therapeutic Learning Settings

Our Academic Support Team will create learning experiences for our clients receiving Stepping Stones services that are similar to experiences they will encounter in their future school settings.  Generalization of learned skills to alternate school environments will be a top priority in treatment planning for clients who receive Stepping Stones services. 

T-  Team Approach 

Every student will be supported by a team that includes our Academic Support Team, a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), and an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) team. Speech, physical, and occupational therapy are also available for students who qualify for these additional services.  Our highly skilled team will work in collaboration with our families to provide a high quality educational experience that meets the needs of the whole child. 

O-  One-on-one Support

Each student will have a team of RBTs who will have extensive knowledge of their ABA programming and how to effectively implement it with the addition of Stepping Stones academic support.  

N-  Needs-based Support

Each child will receive academic assessment to address individual needs for the student, and an ISP (Individualized Support Plan) will be written with the goal of helping our students to reach their full potential at Hopelight with Stepping Stones support services.

E-  Engagement 

Each student will be taught skills that will enable them to be active participants in their future school environment and their education.  The Stepping Stones Academic Support Team will intentionally and consistently encourage and help our students to fully engage in the wide variety of individual and group academic activities within the Hopelight environment.  The goals and objectives in the behavioral treatment plan for each child will be targeted during the academic activities that are added to their therapy day for seamless programming.

S-  Skill Generalization

Our ultimate goal of our added Stepping Stones services at Hopelight is to help each child develop needed academic, social, emotional, and communication skills to thrive in all environments, including the school environment.  These skills will serve as keys to open many doors of opportunity in a wide variety of additional environments for our students!  Hopelight Behavior Analysts and Academic Support Team will ensure a smooth transition to an alternate public or private school when the client is ready for transition.
